"The moment I had been dreaming of for so long was finally here.

Today marks the start of an adventure we've been looking forward to for months: the chance to travel to the States for a once-in-a-lifetime experience in Boston! I had a restless night before. I couldn't sleep. My mind was racing with excitement and nervous anticipation. My stomach fluttered with butterflies as I got ready in the morning, still amazed that this day had finally come.

  

We all met at the railway station in Basel at eight in the morning, and not only I was feeling that nervous - everyone was fulfilled with excitement and talking about what Boston would be like. When we got to the airport in Zurich, we went through the usual airport routine: dropping off our bags, checking in, going through security, and waiting at the gate. Each step brought us closer to Boston. 

 

 

  

  

  

  

The seven-hour flight was smooth but tiring. Yet, as the plane touched down in Boston, applause erupted and it was a moment of joy. We were wide-awake. The American ground beneath our feet felt like a dream come true!

  

  

  

  

As we stepped out into the Boston air, our host families greeted us, some holding up welcome signs with our names! It was a surreal feeling meeting the people we had only spoken to online. The adventure was truly beginning as we all headed off with our host brothers and sisters for a first nicht in our new home.
